Encouraging Others To Imitate Jesus

About five years ago I was preaching by myself in downtown Raleigh, NC, and out in the crowd I saw this this gentlemen and a lady standing beside him with this very warm and inviting smile. After I was done preaching, they came up and thanked me for preaching the word of God. This is where the discipleship process started. I began to imitate the Christ I saw in Scott and Patte.

This was the first time that I ever met Scott and Patte Smith. They would never want the light of praise pointed to them, but I share the names to show the importance of encouraging others to be a part of murder mill ministry because that’s exactly what they did with me.

Scott and I had coffee and he invited me to come the next day out to the local murder mill where he would be preaching. When I got there, I was floored. I knew as a Christian what went on at these places, but standing there, looking with my own two eyes, made this reality of murder in the womb a reality that I could never overlook again. I sat on the curb physically crying and repenting for sitting by passively for so many years. I needed someone to take me by the hand and show me the reality of murder in the womb.

I started going every week to the murder mill to be a voice for voiceless. By God’s grace, I have been going for over four years now. The past year my wife, and a few people from my church, have started to join me and the others. About nine months ago my wife joined me one Thursday morning. It started off slow, but it began to pick up. A young woman, named Adeline, pulled up and Melanie gently handed a pamphlet to the young lady and she rolled down her window and took it into her car. Melanie began to share the truth of abortion and that it was murdering her precious little baby. Adeline began to weep. The volunteers for the abortion clinic  tried to step in between the conversation, but I was able to step in before they could get there. I simply told Mel to get in the car with her and take her to the local pregnancy center. Melanie did and that’s where our relationship started with Adeline.

Adeline has recently had her baby, Adriana and two nights ago I was able to hold her: for the first time a baby that was saved from being murdered. Will you imitate the Christ that you see in the few people that go to the local murder mill? I imitated Scott and Patte and now I am asking you to imitate what you are reading here. God does not need perfect people, He just needs people who are available. Paul states in1 Corinthians 11:1 “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”

We have seen 15 mom and dads turn away from murdering their precious babies this year. Come and joins us at the murder mill. If you don’t live in Raleigh, NC, and want to get started in this ministry, contact us and we can help you. We need partners like you to help fund our evangelism efforts of proclaiming the Gospel to see lives transformed.

Continue to pray for Adeline and Adriana and our ministry to them. Adeline does not yet believe in Jesus; therefore, we have a great opportunity to keep loving them and sharing the Gospel with them. Hopefully you will begin to imitate the Christ that saved a baby’s life in order to save other precious babies lives. Go proclaim the Gospel to see a life transformed!
